Puerto Rico for the AAHS

Mark, Shane, Chad, and I went to Puerto Rico for the American Association for Hand Surgery meeting, which took place at the Westin Rio Mar Beach Resort. We left Tuesday morning, and after all the traveling, we arrived at the hotel after midnight.

On Wednesday and Thursday, we spent some time in the meetings and some at the beach. Dinners were provided by Trimed and DVO, by Garvey and Don, respectively. It was Garvey’s birthday. Don is one of the leaders in DVO. It was interesting to hear their company’s rough start, and how DVO stands for Deo volente—God willing. Lawrence presented on Thursday and Mark on Friday. Both went well. In the afternoon on Friday, we went up to hike El Yunque, which was beautiful, like before.

Sabbath was spent on Culebra—hiking, snorkeling, and hanging out on the beach. Shane met some students from his school in Argentina while we were on the ferry back from Culebra.

On Sunday morning, we went to see old town. It was great. I enjoyed seeing El Morro again. We headed back home that afternoon after a long trip.
